Ramona Melton-Geerdes

Ramona Mona Louise Melton Geerdes, 57, died Saturday, Oct. 28, in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 1st at Central Baptist Church in Borger with Rev. Chris Riley, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Garden at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger, Texas. Mona was born on Nov. 14, 1948 in Tucumari, NM to Dan and Francis Goltry. She had been a lifelong resident of Borger and worked as Office Manager for Dr. Holland. She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Goltry, her husband, Travis Melton, Jr. two sisters, Barbara Huddleston and Georgia Carolyn Goltry, and two brothers, Charles Betts and Pat Betts. She is survived by her mother, Francis Goltry of Porum, OK; two sons - Rex Melton and wife Wendy of Fritch and Trenton Melton and wife Verita of Hugoton, KS; two sisters - Jo Malone of Glazier, TX and Betty Muskrat of Porum, OK; five grandchildren - Laci, Tanner, Toni, Ryan and Ashtyn and a very special friend - David Geerdes of Borger. Casket bearers will be Alan Bonner, Alan Hanson, Gerald Muskrat, Don Malone, Brett Cannon and Bill Wade. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to BSA Hospice of Amarillo, Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79107. The family will be gathering at 504 S. Vaughn, Fritch.
