Ray Randolph Thomas, 82, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 in Amarillo. Services will be 11am Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Church of Christ at Borger. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Ray was born January 12, 1928 in Antlers, Oklahoma to Fred and Edna Thomas. He was a Borger resident since 1942. Ray was in the United States Air Force where he fought in the Korean conflict, and received an honorable discharge as Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Borger and loved music and playing his guitar. He also had a love for cars. On November 5, 1949 he married Vera Moffitt in Borger. After retiring from Phillips Petroleum after 38 years, he owned Thomas Motors carlot for 20 years.
Ray is survived by his wife, Vera 2 sons Freddie Thomas and his wife Lori of Borger, Larry Thomas and his wife Michelle of Amarillo 3 daughters Sharon OBryant and her husband Dennis of Borger, Yvonne Keener and her husband Don of Borger, Donna Zink and her husband Kenny of Robinson 3 sisters Janiece Armbruster and her husband C.D. of Norman, Oklahoma, Charlene Blakeney and her husband Bob of Pampa, Sherlene Riddle of Jonesboro, Arkansas 13 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter.
