Raymond Churchill Bates, 81, died Friday, December 26, 2008 in Borger, Texas.BRBRGraveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Stinnett Cemetery with Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Interment is under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.BRBRMr. Bates was born on November 27, 1927 in Dial, Texas and had been a lifelong resident of Borger. He served in the US Army and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Hazel Bates, two sisters - Ruby Harris Patsy Bates and one brother, Jerry Bates.BRBRHe is survived by a brother - James Bates and a nephew - Raymond Bates both of San Angelo, and three nieces - Mona Neugin of Amarillo, Sherry Anderson of Borger and Laurie Bates of San Angelo.BRBRMemorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 6900 I-40 West, Suite 150, Amarillo 79106.
