Ray Samberson, 79, died Saturday, September 13, 2008 in Amarillo, Texas.BRBRServices will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. BRBRMr. Samberson was born on June 25, 1929 in Coleman, TX and had been a Borger resident since 1939. He married Vondell Switzer on July 15 ,1989 in Florida. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Knife Fork Club, the Rotary and was a life member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and BPOE. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Consuelo Samberson, Sr., and sister Delores Samberson.BRBRHe is survived by his wife Vondell of the home, son - Dr. Randall Samberson of Amarillo, step-son - Johny Switzer and wife Shirley of Falling Water, WV, three step-daughters - Debby Smith and husband Stan of Pampa, Vickie Alexander and husband Curt and Mickie Dawson and husband Ronnie all of Borger, sister - Joan Ramby of Borger, thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.BRBRMemorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo 79109.BRBRThe family will be staying at 209 Somerset in Borger.
