Rc Smith

RC Smith, 77, of Borger passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Minton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tim Hall of Grace Fellowship Church. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery. Services are under the directon of Minton Chatwell Funeal Directors of Borger.

Mr. RC Smith was Born May, 6, 1939 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Otto and Margaret (Lewallen) Smith. He graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1958. RC attended Tulsa University from 1958 to 1961 studying petroleum engineering, and liberal arts. He was a tight end and tackle on the Tulsa University football team. Mr. Smith then attended Northeastern State University where he also played football as a tight end. RC worked for Halliburton from 1962 to 1970, and he also worked for Jack Holmes as a supervisor in the oil and gas industry from 1986 to 2005 when he retired. Mr. Smith loved to take nature walks, horseback riding, and college football games.

Survivors include his three sons Randall Smith of Tulsa, Mark and David Smith, both of Idaho; his daughter Darlyn Smith of Borger; two sisters Regina Smith and Becky Henderson, both of Tulsa, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Brice L. Smith, and a grandson CPL Derek A Stanley who he was very proud of for giving up his life in service to our country.
