Rev. Villa

Rev. Joe Villa, 93, of Fritch, Texas, went to his heavenly home Monday, November 27, 2006. Services will be 2 pm. Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 at the Assembly of God, of Fritch with Rev. C.W. Parker, Chaplain, Odyssey Healthcare officiating, and Justin Unwin, Pastor, Assembly of God assisting. Interment will follow in the Garden of Serenity at Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery. Casketbearers will be Edwin Galley, Jerry King, Josh Villa, Eusebio Ruiz, Raphael Flores, and Melvin Mills. Mr. Villa was born March 19, 1913 in Eagle Pass, Texas. On January 11, 1936 he married Maria Guebarra in Steelestor, Texas. He was born-again in 1952. He retired as an operator after 35 years with the Phillips Co-Polymer plant. After his retirement he pastored two Assembly of God churches in Levelland and Meadow Texas. He will be remembered as being the most polite and kindest man a person could ever meet. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be greatley missed. He was preceded in death by a daughter - Priscilla Villa, grandson - David Villa, daughter in law - Alice Villa, brother - Manuel Cervantez, sister - Juanita Reyna. Survivors include his wife Maria of the home, 3 Sons - Josh Villa and wife Molly of Amarillo, Joel Villa of Amarillo, Abel Villa of Amarillo, 4 Daughters - Lydia King and husband Jerry of Amarillo, Elizabeth Galley and husband Edwin of Fritch, Lisa Lanners of Amarillo, Ruth Smith of Fritch, 6 Sisters - Severa Mendez, Lasara Juarez, Ophelia Flores, Florinda Diaz, Consuelo Constancio, Elvira Cervantez, 2 Grandsons - Samuel Smith and Fred Miranda, 2 Granddaughters - Michelle Villa and Laura Bashir, 7 Great Grandchildren - Joseph Miranda, Daly Miranda, Jacob Miranda, Ayesa Bashir, Jordan Bashir, Moriah Moreno, and Mason Hickson. The family suggests memorials be made to Odyssey Healthcare The Atrium at Coulter Ridge 6900 I-40 West, Suite 150 Amarillo, Texas 79106.
