Ricardo Maximo Lara, 94 of Borger passed away in Amarillo on February 10, 2024. Rosary will be at 6:00 pm on Monday February 12, 2024, at Minton Memorial Chapel. Funeral mass will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Ricardo was born in Santa Rosa Copan, Honduras to Miguel and Trancito (Leyva) Lara. He was an insulator in construction. He came to Borger in the 1960’s. He married Evangelina Rivera December 27, 1980, in Honduras. Ricardo loved fishing, playing the lottery, going on vacations, selling jewelry, and watching boxing.

Preceding him in death are his parents and a sister, Cruz Lara.

Surviving is his wife Evangelina of Borger, son Jackson Lara of Borger, daughter Kimberly Aguilera of Borger and twenty-three other children. Also surviving is a brother, Raul Leyva, of Honduras and a sister, Gladys Leyva, of Honduras, grandchildren Isaiah, Vianey, Mundeo, eighteen other grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
