Richard Dick Arthur Conrad, 58, of Panhandle, died Tuesday in Amarillo. A Wake Service is scheduled for Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Emaculate Mary Catholic Church in Groom with Jim Hutzler officiating. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Emaculate Mary Catholic Church in Groom with Father Tony Neusch and Father Raj officiating. Interment will follow in the Groom Cemetery under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Casket Bearers will be Rick Shuck, Bill England, John Homer, Lee Ogletree, John Koetting, Stan Britten, Joey Neusch and Spence Conrad. Dick was born September 18, 1949 in Amarillo and lived his childhood in Groom. He married Prissy England on April 12, 1969 in Groom. He moved to Panhandle in 1995 and was the owner of Panhandle Pharmacy. Dick was very involved in the community serving in many areas such as a preceptor for the Texas Tech School of Pharmacy, a member of the finance committee of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, a CCD teacher in Amarillo and Panhandle, confirmation instructor, a Pharmacy Consultant for St. Ann's Nursing Home and he was a member of the Lions Club, Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce. However, he was a huge sports fan, being the 1 Fan for the UT Longhorns. He was an avid poker and craps player and enjoyed his trips to Oklahoma City and Albuquerque. He also loved gardening and reading - He enjoyed his library. Dick was preceeded in death by his father, Arthur Conrad. Survivors include his wife, Prissy of Panhandle; mother - Louise Conrad of Groom; a son - Spence Conrad of Amarillo; Five Daughters - Shelly Roach and husband Chase of Canyon, April Conrad and Fiance' Skeeter of Amarillo, Tara Ogletree and husband Lee of Panhandle, Amber Whitehead and husband Richey of Quinlin, and Rachael Sharber and husband Daniel of Amarillo; Two Brothers - Jim Conrad and wife Joan of Alabama and Donnie Conrad and wife Marcia of Groom; Two Sisters - Evelyn King and husband Jim of Amarillo and Cindy Cox and husband Alan of Amarillo and 12 grandchildren and 1 on the way.
