Richard Lee Paul, 79, of Fritch died Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Fritch after fighting his own war.
There will be a graveside service for Richard Lee Paul on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Garden of Love at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. A celebration of life service will follow at Bunavista Baptist Church in Borger at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Conny Moore officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors located at Broadway and Canadian St. in Fritch.
Richard Lee Paul was born December 13, 1937 in Racine, Wisconsin to Fred A. and Ruth Juliet Smith Paul. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Korea for most of his military career. Richard spent most of his life in Chicago where he lived until he relocated to Fritch August 19, 2016. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee, working jigsaw puzzles, going to car shows, playing cards, and monopoly in which he always won, watching sports, especially wrestling, the Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Bears, and the Chicago Cubs. Richard also went to radio school to be a radio announcer. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His strength and many other endearing qualities will live on for generations to come.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Fred Allen Paul, Jr. May 26, 2015 and a son Robert Lee Paul September 25, 1989.
Richard is survived by his son James Paul and wife Sarah of Plainfield, Illinois; four daughters Ruth DeRosa and husband Gary of Fritch, Brenda Paul of Chicago, Patricia Paul of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Becky White of Fritch; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and his companion of many years Debra Farve of Borger.
