Richard Wayne Wallace, 80, of Lubbock died Friday, November 8, in his home. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, at Westlawn Memorial Park in Borger with Rev. Earl Skaggs officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Richard Dickie Wayne Wallace was born on June 13, 1933 in Boulder, Colorado to Durland Robert Wallace and Geraldine Bernice Cleveland Wallace. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Amarillo since 2004. He was also a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Borger, Texas.
Richard graduated from Borger High School in 1951 and attended Frank Phillips College for one year. He married Frances Roberta Smith in December, 1952. He went to work for J.M. Huber Corporation in 1953. He worked for Huber for forty years before retiring in February 1993.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, Durland R. Wallace in 1971, his mother Geraldine B. Wallace in 1979, and his brother, Durland Dee Wallace in 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Roberta son, Robert Wallace and wife Rosemary of Abilene daughters, Vicki Denny and husband David of Lubbock and Connie Chilton and husband Dr. J. Carl of Borger grandchildren, Misti Garcia and husband Mike of Houston, David Ryan Denny and wife Paige of Webster, TX, Emily Chilton Codding and husband Allen of Jonestown, TX, and Jamie Chilton Cummings and husband Bradley of Borger greatgrandchildren, James Allen, Brice, and one due in December sisterinlaw, Joyce Scott and husband Oscar of Amarillo brotherinlaws, Alan Smith of Borger and Roger Smith of Stinnett.
