Bob Lewis, 63, of Panhandle died Monday, September 19, 2016 in Amarillo. A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Guy Walker of Barn Church in Hereford officiating. Burial will follow at the Panhandle Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Randy Thomas, under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Bob was born January 19, 1953 in Pampa, to Alvin Leroy and Frances Clancy Judy Adams Lewis. He graduated from Panhandle High School in 1971 and married Billie Ruth West on March 3, 1972 in Amarillo. Bob hauled cattle for twenty-three years and was a heavy equipment operator for Carson County for ten years. He worked as an oilfield pumper for six years with W.O. Operating and Nichols Brothers. Bob loved to visit and laugh with friends and family. He never met a stranger and his family was his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his father, and his brother-in-law, Len Jennings.
Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Billie; his mother, Fran Lewis of Amarillo; son, Steven Lewis and wife, Marcia of Shallowater, TX; daughters, Stephanie Brackett and husband, Zac of Canyon, and Jennifer Burns and husband, Cass of Panhandle; sisters, Judy Jennings of Panhandle and Anne Friemel and husband, Whipper of Amarillo; grandchildren, Brady, Noah, Abby, McKinzi, Bailley and Robert, Holt, McKinley, Brock, Cole, Haylee, Jack, Hayley, and Hunter, and his first great grandbaby on the way.
