Robert Ivan Luginbyh, 83, died August 11, 2008 in Borger.BRBRA Celebration Of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Stinnett with Rev. Johnny Bernstein, Pastor officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Devotion at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.BRBRMr. Luginbyhl was born on June 3, 1925 in a farm house near the center of Hutchinson Co. close to the present city of Stinnett and was the son of early Hutchinson County pioneers Oliver and Cleora Luginbyhl. He graduated from Stinnett High School in 1943 and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy in the Phillipines. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1950 receiving his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. He lived in the Texas Panhandle area all of his life. He had been active in the North Amarillo Kiwanis Club, was a Scoutmaster for 20 years and was in the Order of the Arrow and Woodbadge. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stinnett and belonged to the Hutchinson County Genealogical Society. Mr. Luginbyhl was a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, Institue of Electronics and Electrical Engineers, and was listed in the International Who's Who of Intellectuals. Robert was an avid Texas Tech fan. He married Irene Johnson in 1950, and she passed away in January, 1985. He later married Imogene Solarek in June of 1987. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kathie Elkins, 5 brothers - Carl, William Leroy, Thomas, Macrae and Weldon Luginbyhl, two sisters - Mary Caywood and Betty Glover.BRBRHe is survived by his wife Imogene Luginbyhl of the home, son - Jim Luginbyhl and wife Debbie of Carlsbad, NM, four daughters - Glynna Armstrong and Joyce Luginbyhl both of Amarillo, Sheri Valle and husband Rodney of Fritch, Sharon Ennis and husband Rick of Lubbock, sister - Carolyn Glover of Ft. Worth, twelve grandchildren - James, Kyle Melissa Luginbyhl, Amy Cheatwood, Robynn Corea, Melinda Elkins, Emma Colton Valle, Ben Smith, Zane Eric Ennis and Kara Kutch; seven great-grandchildren are Jordynn, Jolee Reece Corea, Rachel and Jace Luginbyhl, and Brandon Jonathan Vick.BRBRIn lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hutchinson County Genealogical Society, 625 N.
