Robert Donald Salmon, 86, of Fritch passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Borger. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Westlawn Memorial Park. The burial is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. There will be a visitation of family and friends at the funeral home Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Robert was born January 23, 1938, at Boswell, OK to Kibbie and Marie (Riggs) Salmon. He loved hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. He loved feeding the birds and his kitties. His favorite kittie of all was Hobo. He loved going to the rodeos every year, being in the mountains, trout fishing the rivers. He enjoyed hunting camp every year and they called him the deer slayer. He was proud of his Choctaw heritage.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Kibbie and Marie Salmon; brothers, Larry Salmon, J R Salmon, Herbert “Toehead” Salmon, Roy Salmon, and Bill Salmon; sister, Jean Hess.
Surviving is his wife Dennith “Denny” Salmon of Fritch; daughter, Tammy Salmon Belcher of Borger; son-in-law, Michael Belcher; sister, Betty Hawley of Borger; sister-in-law, Brenda Derrick of Stinnett; granddaughter, Tiffany Hoffman and husband Brad of Fritch; great granddaughter, Raven Hoffman and fiancé’ Caden Farmer of Amarillo; great grandson, Chayton Hoffman of Borger; great great granddaughter, Wrynlee Farmer due to arrive in August; several nieces, nephews and friends.
