Robert Smith

Robert Del Smith, 67 of Fritch died Thursday, December 7th in Borger. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday December 13th at Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Del was born September 23, 1950 in Borger to Delbert Wheeler and Jean Renfroe. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam aboard the USS Sargo Nuclear Submarine as a nuclear propulsion mechanic. He loved cars, navy buddies, camping and fishing. He worked at the Borger Phillips Refinery at Unit 12 as stillman and retired after 33 years.
Del was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Wheeler and mother, Jean Smith, step-father Allan Ray Smith and grandparents Robert and Susie Renfroe.
Del is survived by sisters, Tracie Joyner of Borger, Erlene Wheeler of Amarillo and Susan Levick of El Paso; brothers, Terry Wheeler of Amarillo and Greg Wheeler of Herford; his uncle, Wayne Renfroe and wife, Diane of Lansing, Michigan.
