Bob was born December 13, 1940, in Lawton, Oklahoma to Clifford Waldean “Dean” Forrest and Alma “Nadine” Head Forrest. He married Janet Bryan on September 26, 1959. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church of Borger. He retired in 1995 from the U.S. Postal Service. After retirement he became known as “Golf Shop Bob” at the Borger Country Club. As a youth he was a member of the Borger Gassers Baseball Team and did Golden Gloves Boxing. In his young adult years, he enjoyed coaching youth sports at the Optimus Boys Club, for Little League baseball and Little League football. He was even an assistant baseball coach at Frank Phillips College. When his coaching days ended, he did not give up his love of sports. He just transferred that to watching the Texas Rangers, OU Sooners Football, the Dallas Cowboys, and his grandchildren’s athletic events. He lived a full life and enjoyed doing yard work, golfing, fishing, and hunting with his sons and grandchildren. Bob was a dedicated family man, but nothing brought more joy to his life than his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Nadine Forrest; brother, Jerry Dean Forrest; infant sister, Wanda June Forrest; and great granddaughter, Birkelle Brooke.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Forrest; sons, Bobby Forrest and wife Elizabeth of Borger, Jeff Forrest and wife Carol of Morse; grandchildren, Sommer Forrest, Jordon Alexander and husband Lane, Morgon McBee and husband Will, MaKenzie Horton and husband Seth, Maci Johnson and husband Jake, Nathan Forrest; eleven great grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Sharron Harris and husband David of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
