Rodney J. Rod Collins, 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 25, 2010 in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Grace Fellowship Church with Robert Coffman, officiating. Interment will be in The Garden of Hope at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Rod was born on May 22, 1954 in Guymon, OK and had been a Borger resident for 30 years. He graduated from Borger High School in 1972 and was the US Human Resource Manager for Agrium , Inc. He served in the US Navy as a medic from 1972 to 1976 and was a corpsman in the US Army from 1977 to 1982. Rod enjoyed taking vacations with his family, going to Las Vegas and being Poppy to his granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his first wife Kathy and his father Roy.
He is survived by his wife Lynnette Collins of the Home, two daughters Kaylie Lucero and husband Luke of Fritch, Shana Whittington of Borger, mother Lee Collins, brother Jack Collins, and sister Cathy Collins all of Canyon, two granddaughters Morgan Lucero and Natalie Lattig, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
