Rodney L. McElreath, 65, of Borger, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 in Borger.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Fri, December 9, 2016 at the Minton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Conny Moore of the Buna Vista Baptist Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Rodney Lee McElreath was born June 10, 1951 to Jimmie and Jimmie (Mitchell) McElreath in Memphis, Texas. He served his county in the National Guard and retired from Phillips 66 as a machinist. Rodney lived almost all of his life in Borger, and was instrumental in the starting of the Canadian River Gun Club. Rodney's passion in life was anything that had to do with guns, including collecting guns, and reloading. He also enjoyed being a member of the NRA, owning cattle, and hunting.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn McElreath of Amarillo; two daughters Kim Tollison and husband K.J. of Amarillo, Amy Jackson and husband Corbit of Lusby, Maryland; two brothers Bobby McElreath and wife Kay of Canyon, David McElreath and wife Kathy of McGregor, Texas; three grandchildren Dakota Jackson, Taylor Jackson, and Kai Tollison.
Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew Wes McElreath.
