Roger Joe Purtle

Roger Joe Purtle, 59, passed from this life Saturday, November 23, 2024 at his home. A Celebration of his Life will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday December 7, 2024 at Minton Memorial Chapel. Cremation was under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

He was born October 14, 1965 in Odessa, TX to Roger Joe Purtle, Sr. and Margaret Ann Nelson Purtle. Roger served in the U. S. Army, as an MP and was stationed in Germany where he patrolled the Berlin Wall and provided security for trains transferring nuclear bombs. He loved history, was a news junky and was very adept at searching the internet. His last job was being a Corrections Officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He married Lanette Kalmbacher June 17, 2006 in Borger.

Roger is survived by his wife Lanette, his son Kalob Purtle of Skellytown, his step-son Mykel King of Texas, his step-daughter Ashley Watson and her husband Juice of Borger, his brother Thomas Mullins and his wife Amy of the Ft. Worth area, his grandson Colt Watson, his mother and father in law Gary and Mary Kalmbacher of Borger and his aunt Linda (Katie) Evans of Georgia .
