Roger Reed

Roger Joe Reed, 63, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Riverview Baptist Church, with Ricky Griffin, Pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org or to The Amyloidosis Foundation, http://amyloidosis.org.

Roger was born December 26, 1954 in Borger. He married Pamela Austin on July 16, 1976. He was a very active person and enjoyed working out, playing racquetball, snow skiing, fishing and hunting. When he wasn't working at Sid Richardson Carbon Black he could be found painting houses and spending time with his family. When his boys were young he enjoyed coaching their various sports teams. However nothing brought more joy to his life than his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Alford.

Survivors include his wife, Pam of Amarillo; sons, Chad Reed of Dallas, Justin Reed and wife Cassie of Amarillo, Brent Reed and wife K'Lynne of Fritch; sister, Twanna VanLoon and husband Wilson of Borger; brothers, Wayne Reed and wife Annelle of Amarillo, Steve Reed of Borger; three grandchildren, Brody, Skylar and Jensen; step-father, Robbie Alford of Amarillo; aunt, Barbara Fowler of Borger; and a host of extended family.
