Ronald Rankin

Ronald Ray "Redd" Rankin, 63, of Borger, went home to heaven, Sunday, January, 18, 2015 in Amarillo. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Pam Lehman, 1st United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation is under the direction Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors in Borger.

Redd was born in Borger on December 28, 1951 to Marcus Ray and Lucy Dozzer Rankin. Redd married his best friend, Judy Minton, 35 years ago. In the early days Redd loved to travel especially to New Orleans and Corpus Christi. Appreciative, kind and loving to Judy, he was always concerned for her and how she was doing. Redd had an amazing sense of humor; he loved to laugh and make others laugh. He always tried to be positive even though his life was filled with pain and many struggles. Many friends called Redd their "Hero" as they watched his journey first hand. Redd loved his pets especially Peanut and Snickers. We know Redd is rejoicing in Heaven with many friends and relatives especially his Mother. He is no longer in pain, he walks free and at peace on the streets of Gold.

Redd was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Judy of the home; brother, James "Rusty" Rankin and wife, Paula of Fritch; brother-in-laws Joseph Minton and wife Diana Borger, Jake Minton, Sr. and wife Lea of Amarillo, and Jim Minton and wife, Pat of Borger and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will be at 1213 Coble in Borger and Rusty's home in Fritch
