Ronald L. Whaley, 74, passed from this life Friday, October 11, 2024 in Katy, TX. There will be a family and friends visitation and viewing Friday, October 18, 2024 at Minton Memorial Chapel from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and then the family asks that you join them for dinner at the Texas Rose Steakhouse to continue Ronny's Celebration of Life.

Ronny was born June 6, 1950 in Borger to Jackson "Jack" Whaley and Loretta Barnett Whaley. Ronny grew up in Borger and graduated from Borger High School in 1968, he went on to recieve his Mechanical Engineering Degree and work for Diamond Shamrock for twenty-five years. He married Brenda Hampton August 7, 1971 in the First Baptist Church in Stinnett. Ronny was still a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Borger and loved to fish, hunt, read and travel. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and loved his family most of all.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant son Matthew Ryan Whaley who died July 20, 1988.

Ronny is survived by his wife Brenda, his son Braden Whaley of Irving, TX and his daughter Alisa Tatom and her husband Shawn of Amarillo, his granddaughter Sydney Tatom of Amarillo and his sister Reta Field and her husband Garry of Pampa.

The family requests donations be made in his honor to Houston Food Bank, 535 Portwall St. Houston, TX 77029 or secure.houstonfoodbank.org.
