Ronnie Gene Kauk, 69, of Panhandle went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 18th, 2019 in Panhandle.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Panhandle. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Ronnie was born January 5, 1950 in Elk City, OK to Emmitt and Betty (Skelton) Kauk. He grew up in Leedey, OK where he met and married his soulmate, Kristi Page on August 14, 1971. He then attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK and earned his bachelor's degree in accounting. They later moved to Miami, TX to raise their family and where Ronnie worked in the oil and gas industry as a meter tech. He retired in 2009 and when Kristi retired from Miami ISD in 2010 they began a new chapter in their life, full-time RVing for 5 years. In that time, they made many dear friends as they traveled from Christmas, FL to Fredericksburg, TX and did work camping at Fun Valley Resort in South Fork, CO and Jellystone RV Park in Montrose, CO. In 2015 they settled in to a new home in Panhandle, TX to be closer to family. To stay busy in his retirement years, Ronnie loved to tinker in the garage and work on things around his home. In the words of his daughter-in-law, "Gramps is a damn genius." They parked their RV at a permanent spot at Chalet Village in Cloudcroft, NM as a retreat from the Texas summer heat. In 2018, Ronnie and Kristi opened "Kristi's Kitchen" in Panhandle where he was COO in charge of dishwashing. Throughout his life, Ronnie never met a stranger and has the love of friends and family from all over the country as proof of that.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt and Betty, an infant sister, Kathleen, and a nephew, Aaron.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kristi, sons Greg and wife Mandy Kauk of Amarillo, TX, Brett and wife Marti Kauk of Canadian, TX, daughter Danita Bufford and husband Travis of Ponca City, OK, grandchildren, Madison, Alison, Riston, Kaison, Hanna, Emily and Sadie, 2 sisters, Cynthia Kauk and Kim Boyd and her husband, Mike both of Leedey, OK, nephew Ryan Boyd of Edmond, OK, his aunt Darlene and her husband Marvin Quattlebaum of Leedey, OK.
