Roy Hudson

Roy Hudson, 81 of Borger died Saturday November 10th in Borger. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday November 13th at Church of Christ at Borger with Mr. Denny Sneed of the church and Mr. Richard Kasko of Fritch Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Roy was born June 10, 1931 in the county near Blanchard, Oklahoma to Ruby ODell Hudson and Reverend James Hudson. He attended Healdton High School graduating in 1949. He was a veteran and honorably discharged from the US Air Force. He was also very proud to be a Mason.

Roy worked in various capacities over the years and retired from Odessa Babbitt Bearing Company. He loved to sing at church, watch football on TV, Borger High football and basketball, metal detecting, and travel was wishfull thinking. He loved all his children and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and three brothers.

Roy is survived by his Wife Barbara of 51 years. Daughter Rhonda Schroeder and husband Clay of Borger. Two sons, Meryl Hudson and wife Kimberly of Borger and Kenny Hudson and wife Karie of Eagle Pass, Texas. He was so proud of his grandchildren Jacob and Ashley Schroeder, Dalton and Jaclin Hudson, Lindsey and Kash Overall, Darryn and Courtney Hudson, K. J. Hudson and Devin Hudson. Three great grandchildren.

Other special people in his life included Martha Johnson, Stacie Davis, Shelly Throckmorton all of the Hospice of the Southwest. Thanks to all of you for your loving care. Last but not least is Mary Grisham a true friend and part time caretaker and Edie Reeves who was always there for him. O. D. and Carol Bliss and Rick and Janet Tindall were special friends.

Roy loved his Church and brothers and sisters in Christ. He asked that in Lieu of flowers, donations be made to the High Plains Childrens Home of Amarillo P. O. Box 7448 Amarillo, Texas 79114.

Family visitation will be Monday, November 12, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Minton Chatwell Funeral Home.
