Roy Lane

Roy H. Lane, 67, of Panhandle, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006 at his home. Services will be 2:30pm. Tuesday Dec. 5, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Matsler, Pastor officiating and Dr. Jerry Lane, Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in Borger, Texas assisting. Interment will follow at Panhandle cemetery. Roy Lane was born May 12, 1939 in Pampa, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Panhandle. Roy graduated from Panhandle High School and Oklahoma University with a BBA marketing degree. He was also a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Panhandle. Roy was owner operator of Lane and Company, Inc., and a member of the Panhandle City Council, VFW, Panhandle Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Carson County Square House Museum, Panhandle Airport Board, Rotary Club, and President of the Route 66 Texas Highway association. Survivors include his wife Georgia of the home, Parents - Howard and Christina Lane of Panhandle, Texas, Son - Kelly Lane of Waxahachie, Texas, Daughter - Karrie Smith and her husband Shawn of Panhandle, Texas, Brother - Dr. Jerry Lane and his wife Mary Lou of Borger, Texas, 2 Grandsons - Chad Smith of Amarillo, Texas, Jason Smith of Panhandle, Texas. Memorials may be made to the Panhandle Chapter of the VFW
