Roy Sandefur

Roy Earl Sandy Sandefur, 90, of Borger died Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the First Church of the Nazarene, with Terry Porter, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Borger. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Sandy was born November 15, 1921 in Bridgeport, Texas to J.D. and Thelma Cormack Sandefur. He served as a Staff Sargent in the U.S. Army Air Corp in World War II. He married Frances Inez Dillard on July 2, 1947. Sandy was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. He has been a member of the National Rifle Association since 1946. Sandy was a gunsmith and loved to play the fiddle and guitar.

Sandy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Inez two sons Rusty Sandefur and wife Lisa of Houston John Sandefur and wife Regina of Borger one daughter, Nancy Michener and husband John D. of Rifle, Colorado Eight Grandchildren, Eleven Great Grandchildren and one GreatGreat Grandchild.

Family asked that memorials be made to the Ronald McDonald House 1501 Streit Dr. Amarillo, Tx 79106 or Make a Wish 2324 Lakeview Amarillo, Tx 79109 .

The family will receive visitors Friday, October 26, from 57 p.m. at the funeral home.
