Roy Lee VanLoon, 78 of Borger, Texas, died on January 5th in Canyon, Texas he went to live with his Lord and Savior at 4:15 am.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday the 8th at Minton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Don Rice, Faith Baptist Church in Fritch officiating with a graveside service at 1 pm on Wednesday the 9th at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan Texas. All under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Roy was born on November 11, 1934 to Jess Everett and Lyda Gatewood VanLoon in Rotan, Fisher County, Texas. He married Millicent Sue Hudson on February 12th 1954.
Roy was preceded in death by sister Edith, brothers Delmar Ray, J,E., Odell and daughter Shelia Sue Brewster
He was the youngest of 6 Children: Georgia Aston, Edith Gunn, Delmar Ray VanLoon, J. E. VanLoon and James Odell VanLoon.
He is survived by two sons Kelley VanLoon and wife Kathy of Fritch and Wilson VanLoon and wife Twanna, one Sister, Georgia Ashton of Rotan, TX, five Grand Children, Jess, Alisha, Tracey, Nikki and Stephen, 11 Great Grand Children, Hunter, Kaden, Kody, Kalub, Karlton, Kennidi, Ashley, Austin, Karen, Nathan and Emma Sue as well as 4 nieces, Patsy, Mary Lou, Caroline and Vicki, 4 nephews, Billy Ray, Howard, Larry and Tommy many Great Nieces and Great Nephews.
Dad loved to shoot Trap, Hunting and to work on cars.
He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Fritch Texas, the Adobe Walls Gun Club of Borger and the Borger Elks Lodge. He retired from Phillips Petroleum Company after 40 years of dedicated service.
Casket bearers will be Jess VanLoon, Stephen Brewster, Allan Mounts, Ed Adamson and Bob Tiffany.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be his Friends at the Opportunities Center.
