R.A. "Mac" McDonald, 87, died November 24, 2017 in Amarillo.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday November 29, 2017 in the Minton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tim Hall of Grace Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Home of Borger. Private family burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park.
Mac was born November 16, 1930 in Lubbock to Allen Amber and Joyce Esther Stice McDonald. He was a proud veteran of the US Army serving in Korea. Mac was an electrician by trade and oil and gas producer. He was owner operator of Spencer Steam Co. and co-owner of M & L Electric. Mac married Joyce Hess June 10, 2006 in Borger. He loved his family, and was a Dallas Cowboy fan. Mac enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and going to the horse races in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Elaine and Mary Jo, daughter Celeste Hess, nine brothers and four sisters.
Mac is survived by his wife Joyce, son Joe McDonald and wife Cathy of McKinney, TX, daughters Tamyra Porter and husband Dana, Lesia Hathaway and husband Michael all of Borger, Alicia Rodriguez and husband Danny of Edmond, OK, Pam Matthews of Owasso, OK, sister Pauline Ham and husband Edgar of Richmond, Michigan, brother Don Riley and wife Pearl of Post, numerous grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Mac was the most loving, kind, and generous person you could ever know. He had a sharp mind, a great sense of humor, and quite a sweet tooth.
