Ruby Floyd

Borger Funeral services for Ruby Jewell Floyd, 93, will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10 at Bunavista Baptist Church with Rev Richard Bartel, Former Pastor and Rev. Robert Hensley, Pastor Officiating. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Ruby died Monday November 7, 2011 in Amarillo.

Ruby was born January 24, 1918 in Portales, NM to W. W. and Cora Jones. She graduated from Lelia Lake High School and was a member of the first graduating class of Frank Phillips College in 1949. Ruby was married to Billy V. Floyd for 64 years before his death in 2002. She was a charter member of the Bunavista Baptist Church and also served as Church Secretary there for 27 years. Ruby touched many lives over the years and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Juanita Morrison of Dumas.

Survivors include her two sons Bill Floyd and wife Holly of Lenexa, KS and Mike Floyd and wife Nancy of Amarillo her daughter Wanda Rowe and husband Fred of Bartlesville, OK, eleven grandchildren, eleven greatgrandchildren and 4 greatgreatgrandchildren.

Rubys family would especially like to thank the staff at the Village at Ware Living Center for the love, care and support they gave her the last five years of her life.

Visitation with Rubys family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to Bunavista Baptist Church, 2 Amaryllis, Borger, TX 79007.
