Ruth Frederickson

Ruth Lannen Frederickson, 94, went to be with her Lord on August 26, 2015.

Graveside service will be held 9 am Monday, August 31, 2015 in Westlawn Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 am in the First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Pam Lehman, officiating. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, her memory may be honored with a gift to the First United Methodist Church, 200 North McGee Street, Borger, Texas 79007.

Ruth was born in Oak Grove, Michigan on October 26, 1920 to Grace (Filkins) and Roy Lannen. She graduated from Michigan State University as a dietitian. Ruth married the love of her life, Stanley Wallace Frederickson in 1944.

They moved to Borger in 1948, and after the initial surprise of the heat and carbon black, Borger became the town they loved with so many dear friends. Ruth was a very active member in the First United Methodist Church of Borger where she worked as the Education Director and served in many volunteer and leadership capacities. She particularly enjoyed tending the church rose gardens with dear friends.

Ruth was a member of Altrusa, and helped establish the Republican Party in Borger. She enjoyed family and passed on to her children and grandchildren the values she lived every day. Ruth enjoyed participating in many bridge groups, gardening and serving her Lord.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Stan in 1992 and her parents.
Survivor include her children, Patricia Whitaker (Mike), Susan Howard (John), Philip Frederickson (Jayne); grand kids, Christopher Whitaker (Anna), Jonathan Whitaker (Carrie), Kristen Rees (Brandon), Kelly Howard, Michelle Milam (Erik), Scott Frederickson (Sarah); great grand kids, Christopher Whitaker, David Whitaker, Jack Whitaker, Alyssa Whitaker, Colin Rees and Grace Milam.
