Sarah Hopkins

Sarah Jane Hopkins, 85, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021.

Funeral services will be held 10 am on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Cross Community Church of God with Bishop Michael Springer officiating.  Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.   The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, her memory may be honored with a gift to Interim Hospice, 2217 Perryton Pkwy, Pampa, Texas, 79065.

Sarah was born February 4, 1936 in Gainesville, Texas to Earl Dennis and Opal Patton Dennis.  She married Cecil Dale Hopkins on May 28, 1954 in Borger.  Sarah not only enjoyed cooking, but she was good at it.  She enjoyed raising birds, doing cross stitch and tending to her flowers.  Sarah worked at Holts Grocery Store before taking over doing the books for Hop’s Repair.  Nothing brought more joy to her life than her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Opal Dennis; son, Larry Hopkins; sister, Marie Brown; and brother, Danny Dennis.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil of Borger; grandchildren, Amy Purdy and husband David, Sara Wharton, Nicki Magee and wife Suzanne, Trisha Pyron and husband Josh; great grandchildren, Piper, Emma, Aaron, Brianna, Chloe, Edie; two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Tommy Dennis and wife Charlotte of Fritch, Bobby Dennis and wife Wilma of Fritch; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
