Sharon Ann Goforth, 72, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019.
A celebration of her life will be held 11 am on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Hillside Christian Church West Campus, 6100 S Soncy Rd, Amarillo, TX 79119. Per her request please make this a celebration and wear bright colors. Graveside services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr., Amarillo, TX 79109. In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to River Road ISD, in the memo please write: Special Needs Students, 9500 US HWY 287, Amarillo, Texas, 79108.
Sharon was born November 25, 1946 in Brownwood, Texas. She was full of life and enjoyed her jobs, in fact she never thought of it as work. Sharon spent 20+ years driving the special needs bus for River Road ISD and also 20+ years at the miniature golf course at Wonderland Park. She collected pig figurines. Nothing brought more joy to her life than her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Velma Wright; father, Curtis Rambo; and four brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Mel of Amarillo; mother, Jean Rambo of Bangs, Texas; sons, Kevin Goforth of Amarillo, William Goforth of Amarillo; daughters, Kimbra Elgin and husband Rick of Amarillo, Karen Duncan and husband Max of Amarillo; grandchildren, Mason Goforth, Phoenix Mjølhus, Crosby Elgin, Kinley Elgin, Keith Dodds, Kyle Dodds; ten great grandchildren; brother, James Rambo of Brownwood; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
