Shirley Christian

Shirley Ann Ward Christian was born on July 18, 1939 in Brackettville, Texas to Hardin Lee, Sr
and Dorothy Rea Ward. She confessed her belief in Christ and was a member of New Light Baptist
Church in Dalhart, Texas. She attended public school in Brackettville, Texas.

She was married to Chester Christian on July 8, 1986 in Stinnett, Texas and she is the mother of one
son, Kenneth Ward and one daughter, Dorothy Yvette Proctor.

Her parents, two sister, Rosemary Davis Hawkins and Cerilla Steward, one nephew Earl and one great
nephew Willie, IV preceded her in death. She was a very active member in donating bingo prices for the
Seminole Scout Indian Association until her health began to fail. She loved her summer vacations in Brackettville. She departed this Life at the age of 72 on December 09, 2011 in Amarillo, Texas.

She is survived by her husband Chester Christian of 25 years. Her son Kenneth Ward Missy of San
Angelo, Texas. Her daughter Dorothy Yvette Proctor of Amarillo, Texas. Six step children. Four Brothers
Hardin L. Ward, Jr Mary of Borger, Texas, Clarence G. Ward Audrey and Douglas C. Ward of Brackettville, Texas and Luther W. Ward Lou of Carrizo Springs, Texas. Two sisters Martha E. McDonald
Delbert and Beverly A. Kelly Joe of Brackettville, Texas. Three Grandchildren. A host of step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, greatgreat nieces and great great nephews.
A host of cousins and relatives.

Services will be on December 17, 2011 in Borger, Texas at 11:00 am on Saturday at New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Conners, pastor officiating with burial following at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral directors of Borger, Texas
