Shirley Hale, 91, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 in Pampa.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at First United Methodist Church of Panhandle with Rev. Lewis Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 549, Panhandle, Texas 79068 or the James Mecaskey VFW Post #6927, P.O. Box 243, Panhandle, Texas 79068.
Shirley was born June 20, 1925 in Miami, Texas to Ethel (Wren) and Paul Hale. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Shirley married Ava Lee Morehead on February 15, 1952 in Canadian, Texas. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Panhandle, the 55 Plus Club in Panhandle and the James Mecaskey VFW Post #6927 in Panhandle. Shirley enjoyed woodworking, playing the harmonica and watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Nothing brought more joy to his life than his grandkids and great grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ava; numerous brothers and sisters and son-in-law, Don Graham.
Survivors include his daughters, Susie Dwight and husband Dan of Pampa, Sandra Graham of Roscoe; three grandchildren, Tina Sims and husband Brandon of Borger, Lisa Shepherd and husband Tyler of Katy, Cody Graham and wife Katelynn of Big Spring; and five great grandchildren, Addyson, Braden, Hayden, Abigail and Emery.
