Shirley M. LaGrone

Shirley LaGrone, 99, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.  In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to a charity of choice.

Shirley was born February 16, 1924, in Cleburne, Texas to Shirley Narse Ashcraft and Willie Faye Baggett Ashcraft.  She married John Wesley LaGrone, Jr. on February 14, 1943.  Shirley retired from Phillips where she was in the clerical/accounting department.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and crocheting.  Shirley was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Willie Ashcraft; husband, John Wesley LaGrone, Jr.; son, John Wesley LaGrone, III; and brothers, William Faye Ashcraft and Wesley Doyle Ashcraft.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Jan LaGrone of Fritch; granddaughter, Ella Ann LaGrone of Seattle, Washington; sister, Mary Fagg and husband Charles; and niece, Beverly Ashcraft.
