Shizue “Sally” Cutler, 86, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Celebration Family Church with Pastor Dwight Kirksey officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. In lieu of flowers her memory may be honored with a gift to the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell Street, Amarillo, Texas 79109.
Sally was born August 23, 1935, in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan to Hikozaburo Hachisuka and Natsu Takahashi Hachisuka. She married Leo Cutler on April 18, 1957, in Tokyo, Japan. She enjoyed cooking, sitting on her front porch, and watching Days of Our Lives. Sally was lucky enough to get to meet up with her Japanese friends for lunch dates at Kabuki in Amarillo. Nothing brought more joy to her life than taking care of her family, except for maybe her beloved dog, Bo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hikozaburo and Natsu Hachisuka; husband, Leo Cutler; son, Mark Cutler; three sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include her three daughters, Michele McWilliams of Fritch, Mody Montgomery of Amarillo, Melinda Cutler of Borger; six grandchildren, Heather McNabb and husband Matt, Haley Kuzniak and husband Larry, Hunter McWilliams and wife Jacey, Courtney Kirksey and husband Dwight, Matthew King and wife Kim, Cindy Cutler; fifteen great grandchildren and one on the way; six great-great grandchildren; brother, Hiroshi Hachisuka of Japan; sister, Taeko Nagai of Japan; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of extended family; and her caregivers, Becky Yake, Maria Edgar, Debbie Vaughn, and Ericka Simpson.
