Sonya Powell

Sonya Marie Gariepy Powell, 54, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, December 12, 2015.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Highland Park Cemetery, Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Calvary Baptist Church in Borger with Pastor Jim Gose officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Sonya was born August 10, 1961 in Borger. Sonya was a registered nurse by profession, having worked in Borger, Pampa, Scott and White and Amarillo. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her daddy, Terry Gariepy; step-fathers, Ernest Reber and Barney Tubbs; grandparents, Henry and Alta Smith, Andrew and Effie Gariepy, Elmer and Bertha Reber and Lawrence and Laura Tubbs; brother, Ronnie Mark Gariepy; sister, Martha Norman; and brother-in-law, Dewayne Nicholson.

Survivors include her daughters Jamie Reed and husband Jason of Bushland, Lynzy Felder and husband Craig of Fritch, her son Tanner Leach and wife Brandi of Amarillo her grandchildren, Brayden and Addilyn Reed her mother Shirley Tubbs of Borger, her sisters, RaVonda Crizer of Borger, Linda Nicholas of Borger and Gayle King of San Antonio; brothers, Timothy Reber of Borger and James Reber of San Bernardino, CA and many nieces and nephews.
