Terry Hatfield

Terry Kenneth Hatfield, 67, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, February 24, 2024, in Stinnett Cemetery.  Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.  In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to American Family Association, P. O. Drawer 2440, Tupelo, Mississippi, 38803 or to Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation, 500 South Taylor Ste. 1060, Unit 223, Amarillo, Texas, 79101.

Terry was born April 11, 1956, in Borger to John Herbert Hatfield, Sr. and Elizabeth Pauline Sutton Hatfield.  He worked as a welder for Phillips for 11 years then worked 25 years as an operator for Phillips until his retirement.   Terry then became a welding instructor for Frank Phillips College.  He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Texas Rangers, and watching football; mainly OU and Texas, and if they were playing each other, it was OU all the way.  Nothing brought more joy to his life than his family, especially watching the grandchildren in their sporting events.

He was an amazing father, grandfather, and friend.  He was lovingly known as “Big Red” from his work friends and others around town.  Terry had a heart of gold and would go the extra mile for anyone who needed it.  He was a great inspiration of love, patience, and acceptance.  Terry loved the Lord Jesus Christ and talked all about Him.  He raised his kids and grandkids with the love of the Lord and led them all in the way to go.  He was a perfect example of how a father is to raise his children.  Terry gave us them an example of the Heavenly Father – unconditional love.  This love was not only bestowed upon his family, but to all who were blessed to know him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Hatfield; one great grandchild; sister, Janice Stevens; and brother-in-law, Eddie Miller.

Survivors include his son, Josh Hatfield and wife Tracy of Fritch; daughter, Michelle White of Borger; grandchildren, Boston Curry, Joshua Hatfield, Jr., Grace Hatfield, Terry Marcotte, Anthony Calkins, Jesse Calkins; brothers, John Hatfield, Jr. of Borger, Patrick Hatfield and wife Brenda of Stinnett; sisters, Johnnie Helen Johnston of Whitehouse, Diana Miller of Fritch; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family.
