Thomas Russell

Borger Thomas Calvin Russell, 68, died in Amarillo Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Celebration Family Church in Fritch with Pastor Dwight Kirksey officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.


Mr. Russell was born in Charleston, MS and had been a Borger resident for 29 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and having family barbeques. He was a retired truck driver. Tom married Orpha Mae Ballard July 12, 1960 in Joliet, IL. Orpha preceded him in death March 3, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents - James K. Emily Russell, and two brothers - Charlie Russell and Sonny Boy Russell.


He is survived by 3 sons Thomas Russell, Jr. of Borger, Charles Russell and wife Vicky of Texas and Richard Russell and wife Regina of Borger, 4 daughters Mary Nail and husband Wayne of Borger, Tammy Murphy of Batesville, MS, Lisa Russell of Dalhart and Nancy Wagner and husband Wiley of Fritch, his brother Hollis Russell of Crowder, MS, 3 sisters Catherine Cannon of Crowder, MS, Ruby Beatty of Norfolk, VA and Dorothy Fedricks of Batesville, MS, 17 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren.


Casket bearers will be Charles Gray, Tony Gray, Charles Russell, Jesse Russell, Shawn Blanton, Jr. and Calvin Nail.


The family will be at 104 Warwick in Borger.
