Thomas "Tom" Snider, 72, passed from this life October 31, 2022, in Flower Mound, Texas.
Funeral service will be Friday, November 4, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Borger. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will meet friends Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Thomas Dean Snider was born August 9, 1950, in Pampa, Texas to J. W. and Gloria Smith Snider. He graduated from Borger High School in 1968 and attended West Texas University. Tommy married Beverly Hill Snider in 1981 and they raised their family in Borger and later Grapevine, Texas. Tommy never met a stranger, and he could sell ice to an Eskimo which came in handy as a life-long salesman. He sold real estate, cars, signs and Xerox machines but he found his perfect job and countless friends as the general manager of the Ole Grapevine Cigar Shoppe. He was affectionately known as the “Mayor of Grapevine.” Tom was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Khiva clown for the Shriner’s Organization. Tommy was actively involved in raising money for cancer research through HOPE and he was always willing to dress up and embarrass his family for a good cause.
His passions included golf, cigars, the Rangers and his family. Unconditional love, humble, kind, compassionate and generous are just a few of the attributes that can best describe Tommy. He was a patient listener, quick witted and he made each person he met feel uniquely special. Tommy has left an amazing legacy of love and friendship to everyone who knew him.
Tommy is survived by his two children, Monica Lindsey of Dimmitt, Texas, Kelley Michael Snider of Amarillo, Texas; along with their mother, Beverly Snider of Dimmitt, Texas; two precious grandsons, Konnor Stanbery, Kingston Snider; his best friend and brother, Danny and his wife, Patricia Robie Snider of Little Rock, Arkansas; his younger sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Steve Spangler of Borger, Texas; as well as his many cherished nieces and nephews and all his “greats.”
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Gloria Snider of Borger, Texas.
