Thomas Wood

Thomas C. "Tom" Wood, 87 of Fritch died Thursday, April 8th in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 11th at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Leonard Forsythe officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Tom was born December 20, 1927 in Webb City, OK to Claud and Helen Williamson Wood. He was a machinist for Phillips Petroleum for 25 years. He served in the Army. He built two houses and a restaurant Cocina de Madera. He married Joy Harris October 21, 1951 in Clovis, NM. He loved to fish and hunt.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bill.

Tom is survived by his wife Joy of Fritch; son, David Wood of Lubbock; daughter, Laura Johnson of Amarillo; brother, Roy Wood and wifes Shirley of Fritch; sister, Lois Newman and husband, W. C. of Springdale, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Charlotte Hueitt, Rachel Tomlin and Marcella Wood; five great-grandchildren, Kaylea, Kyle, Tyler, Drayden and Riley.
