Thurmond Sanders

Thurmond Sandy Sanders, 81, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008 in Amarillo.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Minton Memorial Chapel with Mr. Laurencio Garduno of Lubbock officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Love at Westlawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Sanders was born on October 23, 1927 in Delhi, Oklahoma and had been a Borger resident since 1950. He was a letter carrier for 21 years at the US Post Office in Borger and was a member of Franklin St. Church of Christ. He married Betty Hensley on December 23, 1945 in Sayre, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife Betty of the home; two sons Tommy Joe Sanders and wife Cyndy of Conroe, TX and Mickey Sanders and wife Dee of Borger; a brother - James Sanders and wife Mary Alice of Midland, TX; two sisters - Lucille Tennery of Elk City, OK and Pauline Breitwiser and husband Fred of Medera, CA; four grandchildren - Stacey Drew and husband Eric, Tori Jo Sanders, Sarah Sanders and Samantha Sanders and one great grandchild - Connor Smith.
