Tom Winegar

Tommy Elvis Winegar, 78, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, August 23, 2024, in the Minton Memorial Chapel with Mr. Jake Minton officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers his memory may be honored with a gift to Breast Cancer Resource Center, 9400 Alice Mae Lane, Suite 245, Austin, Texas, 78748.

Tom was born December 7, 1945, in Borger to R.L. Winegar and Virginia Baker Winegar. He married Lou Ann McGaughey on May 21, 1979, in Knox City, Texas. Tom retired from J.M. Huber. He enjoyed motorsports, drinking coffee with friends, and watching his grandkids play sports. Tom had a great sense of humor and was known for being ornery. He and Lou Ann enjoyed having Subway sandwich dates at the lake. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, R.L. and Virginia Winegar.

Survivors include his wife Lou Ann of Borger; son, Tommy Winegar and wife Lourie of Lubbock, daughter, Shelley Fraley and husband Luke of Borger; grandchildren, Cameron Winegar and wife Angela, Cody Winegar, Saydee Throckmorton and husband Landon Ibarra, Bethany Johnstone; great grandchildren, Ellie, Avie, Emory; brothers, Jerry Winegar and wife Priscilla of Borger, Robert Winegar and wife Debbie of Midland; and a host of extended family.
