Veretta Dale

Veretta Dale, 84, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Gateway Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Downs, officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Pallbearers will be her grandson-in-laws, Errol Reyes, Keith Cox, Eugene Carillo, Richard Jurado, Ray Auld, Rodney Russell, Bennie Parker, Rick Rodriguez, Dustin Watson and Greg Byler.

Veretta was born February 23, 1931 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Etta Mae (Rutledge) and Virgil M. Stephens. She married Nelson W. Dale, Jr. on January 6, 1951 in Altus, Oklahoma. Veretta was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church and a resident of Borger since 1962. She was employed at Borger Nursing Center for 10 years and was an amazing homemaker. Veretta was faithful in church and loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Nelson W. Dale, Jr.; parents; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Kay (Ferguson) Dale; a great granddaughter and 11
siblings.

Survivors include her son, Mike Dale and wife Fran of Amarillo; daughters, Barbara Barbour and husband Bennie, Patricia Lemery and husband Bruce, Karen Felker and husband Ernie all of Borger; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; brother, Vernon Stephens and wife Linda of Fort Worth; sister, Loretta Potarf and husband Donald of Gravette, Arkansas; brother-in-laws, Billy Dale and wife Mary Sue of Oakwood, Oklahoma, Donald Dale and wife Sharon of Azle, Clarence Stallings of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; and a host of extended family.
