Verlon Lane

Verlon Ruth Lane, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 27, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 30, at Calvary Baptist Church in Borger with Terry Raines officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 5-7 on Friday, July 29 at Minton-Chatwell.

Verlon was born on January 2, 1927 in Keota, Oklahoma to Guy and Anna Belle Roulston. She married Hubert Lane on July 5, 1947 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. After they married, they moved to Borger so Hubert could work at Phillips 66. She was a secretary for 17 years at First Baptist Church of Phillips. She taught Sunday School for 65 years. She was a bright, beautiful soul who touched the lives of all she came in contact with.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Lane; parents, Guy and Anna Belle Roulston; 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

She is survived by her children, Sherry Zink and husband Mike of Borger; Max Lane and wife Becky of Amarillo; grandchildren, Chad and Krista Bashor of Borger, Kim Wilson of Borger, Kellen and Lauren Lane of Amarillo, and Logan Lane of Dallas; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way, and 1 great great grandchild; sister-in-love, Lorene McCollum, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chad Bashor, Austin Bashor, Kellen Lane, Chris McCollum, Nick Mears, and Brandon Glenn. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
