Vernon Sexton

Vernon L. Sexton, 69, went to meet his Lord and Savior at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010.

Gravside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Westlawn Memorial with Monsignor Michael Culwell, Pasator of St. Johns Catholic Church officiating. Cremation is under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Vernon was born January 1, 1941 in Kemah, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents Eldon Shaggs and Dayla Vaught, his sister Judy Saunders and uncles James Sexton and Billy White. In his younger years, he worked in the oilfields and later as a mechanic until his retirement.

He is survived by his close companion and caregiver Emma B. Lopez of the home, daughter Leeann and three grandchildren his brother Grant Vaught of Cromwell, OK, sisters Sharon Barrett and husband Terry of Seminole, OK, Julie Seward and husband Don of Ponca City, OK, Agatha Johnston and husband Steve and Joyce Barnes and husband Cliff all of Cromwell, OK, aunts Gladys Gray from Tulsa, OK, Betty Lowery from Oklahoma City, OK and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
