Vernon Taylor

Vernon Pate Taylor, 92 of Borger passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022, in Amarillo. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Minton Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. There will be a visitation of family and friends at the funeral home from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday October 12, 2022.

Vernon was born February 9, 1930, in Langley, Arkansas to Fred and Inez (White) Taylor. He married Frances Hastings January 5, 1973, in Borger. He was a heavy equipment operator, a Baptist and a member of the Buffalo Gap Masonic Lodge 484 AR. He loved spending time with family and friends, writing poems and songs, reading, gardening and traveling. He ran the Taylor Made Business from his home and was very active in the community.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, brothers, Jasper Taylor, Isaac Taylor and Armol Taylor;  sister, Ethel Lee Dollar; brother-in-laws, Charles Temple and Ben Hastings; sister-in-law, Russia Taylor; and a grandson Clint Harris.

Surviving are his daughters Laquetta Harris and husband Alan of Iraan, TX, amd Gail Brogger and husband Mark of Ponca City, OK; mother of his children, Ruby Taylor Bishop of Borger; brother, Carol Lee Taylor of Langley, AR; sisters, Willa Mae Temple of Camden, AR, Betty Lou Taylor of Amarillo, TX, and Velda Dodd and husband Harold of Sulphur Springs, TX; brother-in-law, Junior Dollar of Glenwood, AR; sister-in-laws, Jaquita Taylor of Duncan, OK, Jane Bryan and husband Mike of Fritch, TX and June Hastings of Abilene, TX; grandchildren, Tim Harris and wife Kacy of Midland, TX, Charles Harris and wife Amber of San Angelo, TX, Daniel Harris and wife Candice of Diane, TX, Meredith Harris Pechacek and husband Cody of Cibolo, TX, Laura Burmaster and husband Steve of Algonquin, Illinois, Emily Keough and husband Michael of Amarillo, TX, Pamela Moore and husband Jonathan of Amarillo, TX and Pate Brogger of Ponca City, OK; great grandchildren, Jordan Harris, Laura Harris, Layla Harris, Maverick Harris, Dexter Harris, Dani Harris, Devon Harris, Clint Pechacek, Maelee Pechacek, Micah Pechacek, Grace Burmaster and Grant Burmaster; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
