Virginia Joyce " Jenny" Davis

Virginia Joyce “Jenny” Davis, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024 in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral services and burial will be at 2:00 pm Monday, July 22nd, 2024 in the Garden of Hope at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Jenny was born June 11th, 1938 to John Phillip Ambler and Beulah May Walden Ambler in Wheeler County, Texas. She spent her childhood and teenage years growing up on the family farm, before marrying her husband James Harold “Jim” Davis on December 27th, 1957 in Twitty. After James completed his service in the United States Army, the newlyweds moved from Shamrock to the big city of Borger in 1958. Jenny was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church throughout her life, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She had an unwavering love for her family, her friends, and her church, and she was steadfast in her devotion to Christ. She taught by example and left an indelible impression those whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles P. “Choppy” Ambler, son James Curtis “Bowie” Davis on September 26th, 2008, and her husband James Harold Davis on July 26th, 2017.

Survivors include her son Robert Alan “R.D.” Davis of Borger; four grandchildren, James Nicholas Davis, Lacy Gaytan, Amanda Davis, and Ryan Davis; seven great-grandchildren, Brynne Davis, Jordyn Petitt, Kasyn Collier, Braelee Whitmire, Haidyn and Hunter Gaona, and Ivy Davis.
