Virginia Snyder

Virginia Snyder, 87, died Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Amarillo.

Graveside services were held Friday at 4:00 p.m. in The Field of Honor at Westlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Calvin Winters of First Southern Baptist Church officiating. Services were under the direction of MintonChatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Virginia was born on November 4, 1923 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma, and was a devoted mother and wife, living in Fritch until the death of her husband in 1987. She then resided in Amarillo for the rest of her life, and was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church in Amarillo for several years. She married John Snyder on August 15, 1943 in Alanreed, Texas. She was a homemaker and loved needlework and embroidering.

She was preceded in death by her husband John H. Snyder, parents George Lorene Odell, sister Mary Nell and brother George Jr.

Survivors include her son Robert Snyder of Amarillo, three daughters Loretta Roulier of Savanah, GA, Martha Barton of Amarillo, Glorianna Keener of Loveland, CO, sister Carolyn A. Morse of Montana, eleven grandchildren and thirteen greatgrandchildren.
