Vonnie Washburn

Vonnie Bess Washburn, 87 of Borger died Friday, September 27, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 2, at the First Baptist Church of Borger. Her sons, Larry Washburn, Terry Washburn, and Doug Washburn will be officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Bess was born on March 1, 1926, to Vaughn and Nan Williamson in Haskell County, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Borger, the Borger Music Club, an Election Judge, and she played the piano and organ in churches since she was fourteen years old.

Bess was preceded in death by her husband, C. E. Chuck Washburn, her daughter, Cheryl Dacus, and her grandson, Damon Dacus.

Survivors are her sons, Larry Washburn and wife Sandra, of Baytown, Texas, Terry Washburn and wife Ruthie of Cedar Park, Texas, and Doug Washburn and wife Janie of Palestine, Texas brothers, Gene Williamson of Lubbock, Frank Williamson of Granbury, Doug Williamson, of Manila Philippines, and Tom Williamson of St. Louis, MO sisters, Patsy Poynor of Muleshoe and Ruthie Bankston of Houston Eleven Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren.
