Walter Charles (Chuck) Miller, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed into the arms of our Lord on February 11, 2017.
Chuck was born in Panhandle, TX on February 1, 1938 to Lloyd Charles Miller and Oneta Madeline Miller. After their engagement at the Texas Aggies bonfire in 1959, he married the love of his life, Jeanie in 1960.
Chuck worked his 36 year career in the defense industry; from nuclear engineering at Rocketdyne to reliability engineering and then executive management at Bendix (subsequently Allied Signal and Honeywell). His work took him from his home in Panhandle TX to Simi Valley, CA, Scottsdale, AZ, Seattle, WA and finally to Kansas City, MO before retiring to Lake Tahoe - Crystal Bay, NV where he and Jeanie have lived for the last 19 years.
In his retirement years Chuck enjoyed cycling in the Sierras, hiking the Tahoe Rim trail, golfing, collecting the fine wines of the Napa Valley and snow skiing at Northstar at Tahoe. The pride of his life was the closeness of his family and the achievements of his children and grandchildren. He leaves a great legacy of strength of character, sense of humor and the importance of family.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanie, his daughter Cynthia Walker and son-in-law Jim Walker of North Bend WA, his son Jeff Miller and daughter-in-law Sue Miller of Fort Wayne IN, 5 grandchildren Kali (Eli) Schwimmer, Katelyn Walker, Kelsey Walker, Hannah Miller, Jake Miller, his sister Madeline Miller of Amarillo TX and his brother Jack Miller of Lakewood, CO.
